Isn't skin a wonderful thing? What indeed would we do without it?

Our skin is a barrier that protects our bodies' internal organs from the harm that would otherwise occur from things like dirt, insects, bites, toxic chemicals, and the like. Yes, it might hurt to have the neighbor's dog chomp down on our leg, but better that than what's beneath the skin, right? Skin also allows us to walk around (appropriately covered for the surroundings, of course) without grossing everyone out. When skin is healthy, it is certainly attractive and can get you noticed. Yes, skin is a miraculous and handy organ.

Healthy skin is fairly easy to care for. Keep it clean. Keep it moist. Keep it protected from too much sun, chemicals, etc., get proper nourishment and enough water, and you should be good to go. Easier said than done sometimes, though, right?

Like any other part of the body, skin can become diseased. Since certain parts of your skin (particularly your face and hands) are almost impossible to hide or cover up, skin problems can cause emotional stress, which can often make the problem even worse.

Almost everyone has problem skin during certain periods of their lives. The lucky ones have some problems during adolescence, it clears up, and it becomes nothing more than a funny memory. Others have a constant battle in one form or other.

Fortunately there are uncountable variations of soaps, cleansers, creams, toners, supplements, and many more categories of products available to help you solve your problems.

Where to start? Well, that's why we're here. We've indexed several thousand of the most informative sites and articles to help you cope with, and hopefully solve, your particular skin problem.

If you came straight to this page without going through other parts of our site first, what I recommend is that you skim through the articles section first, and read those that seem to be appropriate for your current condition.

We'd also appreciate it if you check out some of our favorite partner sites linked either from this page or from more specific pages. Sometimes a book, nutritional supplement, or skin lotion is all it takes to get you back in shape, ready to smile and meet the world confidently.

I hope we end up helping you, thanks for visiting, and come back often as we'll try to keep coming up with new and important articles in the world of skin care. And please, don't forget to tell your friends about us, too!
